The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) (Saesneg yn unig...)

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK - it’s the equivalent of an MBE. Any group doing volunteer work that provides a social, economic or environmental service to the local community can be nominated for the award; what they all have in common is their passion to support their community.

We know that there are volunteer groups doing fantastic work in Wales and we’d really like your help in letting them know about the The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service so that Welsh Volunteers can get the recognition they deserve. In 2019 the Award was presented to 281 diverse groups of volunteers but not very many in Wales, so if you know of an exceptional voluntary group please let them know about the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.

Visit Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service website - click here, have a look at the eligibility criteria and guidance documents and nominate before 13th September.

Gofalu trwy'r Gymraeg: Dechrau chwilio am weithwyr gofal sy’n darparu gofal rhagorol trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg

Gwahoddir enwebiadau am wobr newydd i gydnabod a dathlu gweithwyr gofal sydd wedi gwneud gwahaniaeth i fywydau pobl trwy ddarparu gofal a chymorth yn Gymraeg.

Mae’r wobr Gofalu trwy’r Gymraeg yn agored i unrhyw weithwyr gofal cyflogedig sy’n gweithio ym maes gofal cymdeithasol neu flynyddoedd cynnar a gofal plant yng Nghymru, ac sy’n darparu gofal rhagorol trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.

Mae Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru yn gwahodd aelodau o'r cyhoedd, cyflogwyr a phobl sy’n gweithio yn y maes gofal i enwebu gweithiwr gofal.

Bydd angen i unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn enwebu gweithiwr gofal llenwi ffurflen enwebu, gan ddweud mewn 250 o eiriau neu lai pam mae’r gweithiwr yn haeddu cael ei gydnabod a pha wahaniaeth mae wedi’i wneud i fywyd neu fywydau’r person neu’r bobl sy’n cael cymorth ganddo neu ganddi.

Gall y gweithiwr fod yn siarad Cymraeg yn rhugl, siarad ychydig neu’n dysgu, a does dim angen iddo neu iddi fod o safon benodol, cyn belled â’i fod yn defnyddio'r iaith wrth ddarparu gofal a chymorth.

Cytunir rhestr fer o enwebeion gan banel o feirniaid, ac wedyn gwahoddir y cyhoedd i bleidleisio am y gweithiwr maent yn credu y dylai ennill y wobr, a fydd yn cael ei gyflwyno yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn Llanrwst ar ddydd Mawrth, 6 Awst 2019.
Dywedodd Sue Evans, Prif Weithredwr Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru: “I bobl y mae’n well ganddynt siarad Cymraeg neu sydd â'r Gymraeg yn iaith gyntaf iddynt, mae cael gofal a chymorth gan rywun sy’n siarad eu hiaith yn rhan bwysig o ofal o ansawdd da, sy'n llawn urddas.

“Gall hyd yn oed ychydig o eiriau o Gymraeg gwneud gwahaniaeth enfawr i’r rhai sy’n derbyn gofal a chymorth.
“Gobeithio y bydd y wobr newydd hon nid yn unig yn rhoi sylw i weithwyr sy'n darparu gofal rhagorol trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, ond hefyd yn codi ymwybyddiaeth o'r angen am fwy o bobl sy'n gallu siarad yr iaith i weithio yn y maes gofal.”
Bydd angen i unrhyw un sy’n enwebu gweithiwr gofal sicrhau bod y gweithiwr gofal yn hapus i gael ei enwebu cyn cyflwyno’r cais oherwydd bydd Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru yn defnyddio ei stori a lluniau i roi cyhoeddusrwydd i'r wobr, ac i hybu manteision a phwysigrwydd darparu gofal a chymorth trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.

Dylai unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn enwebu gweithiwr gofal, lawrlwytho a llenwi ffurflen enwebu sydd ar gael ar wefan Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru - cliciwch yma , a’i hanfon:
• ar e-bost i digwyddiadau@gofalcymdeithasol.cymru
• trwy’r post i Gofalu trwy’r Gymraeg, Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru, South Gate House, Wood Street, Caerdydd CF10 1EW.
I gael rhagor o wybodaeth, cysylltwch â ni drwy'r ffyrdd uchod neu ar Twitter @gofcymdeithasol neu ar Facebook yn facebook.com/carecareerswales

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer derbyn enwebiadau yw 3 Gorffennaf 2019.

Offer to CVSC Members below circulated on behalf of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod (Saesneg yn unig...)

At the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod we have been working on ways to increase our engagement with the community in Llangollen and give something back to the people in the locality.

We endeavour to make the Eisteddfod more accessible to community groups and those that are not currently engaged with our event. This includes the offer of complimentary tickets for community groups to give to their members.

This year we are trying a slightly different approach by giving out special offer codes so that the free tickets can be accessed online. We would like to offer CVSC the opportunity to share this online discount code with your members.

Using the code COMMUNITY19 your members will be able to access a FREE FAMILY DAY TICKET, valid Wed-Sat of Eisteddfod week. Simply visit here and select Family Ticket and enter the code when prompted to claim the free ticket.

The number of tickets available on this code is limited and will expire on the 15th June 2019.

Localgiving Launches Magic Little Grants for 2019 (Saesneg yn unig...)

Small grants for local charities and community groups that are working to deliver sports and physical activities in their communities across Great Britain.

The Magic Little Grants Fund provides local charities and community groups the opportunity to access funding to deliver engaging physical activities, which help to overcome barriers to participation.
The aim of the fund is to support the work of organisations that are engaging hard to reach individuals, encouraging them to take part in physical activity to help improve their physical health.

There is a total funding pot of £550,000 for 2019 (the largest yet) with grants of up to £500 for groups with an income of less than £250,000.

The funding can be used to support the general running costs of new and existing sports and physical activities. For example, this could include facilities hire, kit and equipment, coaching qualifications, other volunteer expenses etc.
Although applications can be made at any time and are reviewed on a monthly basis, groups could wait up to two months to receive an update on the status of their application.

The deadline for applications is midnight on 30 November 2019.

Abergele Diweddaraf ar Waith Lliniaru Llifogydd

Yn dilyn llifogydd a brofwyd yn 2012 ar Eldon Drive a’r Links Estate, cyflwynodd CBSC gais am arian i Lywodraeth Cymru fel rhan o Rhaglen 3 cam, Gwaith Lliniaru Llifogydd fel a ganlyn:

Beth sy’n digwydd nesaf?

Dros y 12 mis nesaf, bydd llawer yn digwydd tu ol i’r llenni. Pan fydd y gwaith wedi ei orffen rydym yn bwriadu cynnal digwyddiad galw heibio cyhoeddus i gyflwyno’r datrysiad arfaethedig.

Os bydd gennych unrhyw ymholiad, cysylltwch â’r Adran Amgylchedd, Ffyrdd a Chyfleusterau ar 01492 575337, gan nodi Gwaith Lliniaru Llifogydd Eldon Drive a bydd aelod o’r tîm llifogydd ar gael i’ch cynghori.

Beth y gallaf ei wneud?

Byddwn yn gofyn i holl breswylwyr barhau i fod yn ymwybodol o’r peryg o lifogydd. Mae’r Fforwm Llifogydd Cenedlaethol yn elusen annibynnol wedi ei osod i gynorthwyo a cynghori cymunedau mewn perygl.

Rydym yn argymell yn gryf eich bod yn ymweld â’u gwefan www.nationalfloodforum.org.uk i gael mwy o wybodaeth am sut gallwch warchod eich eiddo.

Council Mergers (Saesneg yn unig)

In June 2015, the Minister for Public Services announced Welsh Government’s preference that the 22 County Councils should be merged to form just 8 or 9 councils. This will be a massive change for public services in Wales. There are two options for North Wales either 3 councils or 2 councils. For Conwy residents this means:

Option 1:
Conwy County Borough Council merges with Denbighshire County Council.

Option 2:
Conwy County Borough Council merges with Gwynedd County Council and Anglesey Council.

The Welsh Government has stated it has not made a final decision, and they will consult on a draft ‘Mergers and Reform’ Bill. This will include further formal consultation on proposals for Local Authority mergers, which we hope as many Conwy residents as possible take part and make their voices heard.

The Mayor, Members and Staff of Abergele Town Council were saddened by the loss of two of its long standing members Cllr John Pitt and Cllr Ken Sudlow.

Cllr John Pitt has sat on Abergele Town Council since 1991 and was a member of several of the Committees of the Council.  In recent years Cllr Pitt had an interest in the Environment and Climate change matters and had contributed to a Welsh Government programme that the Town Council had been selected to participate in and was the only Town Council in North Wales to be selected in 2013.
Cllr Pitt was a very private person outside of the Town Council

Cllr Ken Sudlow has been a member of Abergele Town Council since 2006 and had a keen interest in the financial side of the Council as he had a background in Banking.  Cllr Sudlow was Chairman of the Policy and Finance and General Purpose and Planning Committees many times.  Cllr Sudlow was actively involved in the Grants and Estimates Committees of the Council and had an understanding of the running and procedures of the Town Council and its regulations.
Cllr Sudlow was very committed to his family outside of the Town Council
Both members will be very sadly missed by the Council.
